ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 202, SECTION TWO (2),
AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1273, DUTIES OF THE CITY ATTORNEY,
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 202, Section Two (2), as amended by
Ordinance No. 1273, states that: "The City Attorney shall attend
all meetings of the West Memphis City Council, the West Memphis
Airport Commission and the West Memphis Utility Commission"; and,
WHEREAS, the time of the meeting of the West Memphis Airport
Commission has been changed so that it conflicts with the meeting
of the West Memphis Utility Commission making it impossible for
the City Attorney to attend both meetings; therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,
ARKANSAS:
Section 1. Section Two (2) of Ordinance No. 202, entitled
"DUTIES OF CITY ATTORNEY" as amended by Ordinance No. 1273 is
hereby amended to delete the words "the West Memphis Airport
Commission" from the second sentence of the second paragraph of
Section One (1) of Ordinance No. 1273.
Section 2. All Ordinances or Parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3. EMERGENCY CLAUSE. It having been found and
determined by the City Council of the City of West Memphis,
Arkansas, that the meeting times of the West Memphis Airport
Commission and~the West Memphis Utility Commission now conflict,
making it impossible for the City Attorney to attend both meetings;
therefore, an emergency is declared to exist, and this Ordinance
being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health,
safety and welfare of the Citizens of West Memphis, Arkansas,
shall become effective immediately after its passag nd approval.
