AN ORDINANCE TO REZONE A TRACT CONTAINITIG 1.925 ACRES IN PART r~
OF THE SE 1/4 OF SECTION 9, TOWNSHIP 6 NORTH, RANGE 9 EAST, `
LYING NORTH OF CENTER LINE OF U. S. HIGHWAY N0. 70, ITd THE CITY
OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, DECLARING AN E1"lERGENCY, AT1D FOR OTHER
PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I: That the following described property located
in the city of West Memphis, Arkansas, to wit:
A part of the SE 1/4 of Section 9, Township 6 North,
Range 9 East, lying north of the center line of U. S.
Highway 70, more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the corner of Section 9, 10, 15 and
16, Township 6 TJorth, Range 9 East; thence north
75.3 feet along the east line of the SE 1/4 of said
Section 9 to the point of beginning; thence north
1 degree 14 minutes 40 seconds west a distance of
225.45 feet along said east line of said Section
9 to a point in the south right of way line of U. S,

Highway 70 Overpass; thence south 70 degrees 50
minutes 50 seconds west a distance of 66.38 feet
along the south right of way line of Highway 70
Overpass; thence south 68 degrees 57 minutes 50 - .. __;,
seconds west a distance of 272.32 feet along said
right of way to a point; thence south 25 degrees

feet to a point on the north right of way line of
U. S. Highway 70; thence west along said north right
of way line a distance of 864.3 feet to a point;
thence south 34.5 feet to a point on the north right
of way line of Highway 70 in 1928; thence east
480.68 feet along said old north right of way line
to a point; thence south a distance of 15.1 feet to
a point on the present center line of U. S. Highway
70; thence east a distance of 674.72 feet along
said center line to the point of beginning, containing
1.925 acres, more or less.
Being in the 4200 block of East Broadway, West Memphis,
Arkansas.

District.
SECTION II: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION III: EMERGENCY CLAUSE: It is found and determined
by the City Council that this ordinance is necessary for the
owners of the property to be able to properly utilize such prop-
erty; and this ordinance is necessary for the growth and ex-
pansion of the city of West Memphis, and that the passage of
this ordinance is in the interest of the public health, peace,
safety and welfare of the city of West Memphis and the inhabitants
thereof. Therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and
this ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately on
its passage and approval.
