2375 ORDINANCE NO. .2375
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE HIRING OF ADAM STANDRIDGE D/B/A
QUALITY ELECTRIC FOR ELECTRICAL WORK FOR THE CITY OF WEST
MEMPHIS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, A.C.A. § 14-42-107(b)(1) states:
No alderman, council member, official, or municipal employee shall be interested,
directly or indirectly, in the profits of any contract for furnishing supplies, equipment, or
services to the municipality unless the governing body of the city has enacted an
ordinance specifically permitting aldermen, council members, official, or municipal
employees to conduct business with the city and prescribing the extent of this authority.
and;
WHEREAS,the City of West Memphis desires to utilize the services of Adam
Standridge, doing business as Quality Electric, to provide electrical work for the City of West
Memphis; and
WHEREAS, Adam Standridge is related to the current West Memphis Public Works
Administrative Assistant and, as such, the Administrative Assistant has a"direct or indirect"
interest in the profits of such hiring, thereby requiring prior approval of such hiring by the City
Council of the City of West Memphis;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City of West Memphis is hereby authorized to hire Adam Standridge
for electrical work for the City of West Memphis.
