RE: MAYOR'S VETO OF ORDINANCE NO. 1160
T am herewith filing my written statement concerning my veto of
Ordinance No. 1160 which was adopted by the West Memphis City Council
on February 16, 1984 and filing this with the Office of the City Clerk
prior to the next regular meeting of the City Council.
I am vetoing Ordinance No. 1160, An Ordinance Establishing A Sanitation
Commission, Defining Their Responsibilities and Duties, Declaring an Emerbency
And for ether Purposes, for the following reasons:
1. In my judgement, it is contrary to public interest.
2. It does not give the Mayor sufficient time to select and appoint
~~`
members to the Commission.
3. This Ordinance conflicts with the adopted building codes of the
City of West Memphis.
For the above reasons, I have officially vetoed Ordinance 1160, adopted
by the West Memphis City Council on February 16, 1984 as of this date, March 1,
