AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE N0. 1052 SECTION 2 AND
SECTION 3, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Section 2 of Ordinance 1052 is hereby amended as follows:
The Fire Department of the City of West Memphis will bill the recipients
of the ambulance services and when no payment is made within thirty days
,,, after initial billing a letter will be sent stating that if payment is
not made within sixty (60) days a ten percent (10%) late penalty will
be added and the account will be forwarded to a collection agency for
collection.
SECTION 2. Section 3 of Ordinance 1052 is hereby admended as follows:
The Fire Department of the City of West Memphis will furnish a list of
all accounts that are delinquent after ninety(90) days to the City
Clerk for forwarding to the collection agency designated by the City
Council of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas.
SECTION 3. It being found and determined by the City Council of the
City of West Memphis, Arkansas, that there is urgnet need to change
fee structures and billing procedures, an emergency is hereby declared
to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the public peace, safety
health and welfare of the citizens of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas
shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval.
