JOHNSON, MAYOR ATTEST: PHILL ' PARA, CITY CLERK Minutes prepared by: Tracy Camper,Jr.Deputy City Clerk Dear Mayor and City Council Members, In addition to my letter dated June 30, 2015, I would like to take this opportunity to provide update on our efforts to secure the Mayfair properties, as well as provide progress report on work being done to prepare a feasible re-development plan for both properties in order to provide affordable, quality housing to the residents of the City of West Memphis. 1. Grass has been cut twice by a contractor recommended by the Development Office of the City of West Memphis, Larry Lawn Service, since the beginning of June. Another grass cut is scheduled for beginning of August, 2015. 2. After interviewing several local vendors, we had secured the terms for fixing the entire fence line surrounding the property as well as putting in missing parts of the fence and putting in new gate to the property. We expect this work to be done in the upcoming weeks, based on the availability of Mr. David Taylor's fencing company. 3. Once the fence line is fully repaired and property is secured, we will engage services of a security company to do sporadic checks on the property. To this end, we had spoken with several local security services providers, as well as the Police Department of the City of West Memphis. I held a conversation with Lieutenant Gardner to explore the possibility of the City of West Memphis Police Department to conduct increased patrol of the properties in exchange for a payment to be provided. th' 4. Once the fence line is fully repaired, we intend to post"No Trespassing" signs along the fence line, as per recommendation of Lieutenant Gardner from the City of West Memphis Police Department. 5. We had secured terms for clean-up of the debris located on the property with Larry Lawn Service and we expect the work to be done within the next two to three weeks. , 6. We are diligently working on putting together a feasible re-development plan for Mayfair properties. This is a very arduous and time consuming process, but we continue to make progress with it and hope to be able to present an overview to the City of West Memphis within upcoming weeks. We are engaged in talks with potential development partners for this project. The commitment of Visca Capital and its partners to the project is strong and we have every intention to succeed with the rehabilitation of Mayfair I and Mayfair II Apartments. We therefore request for continuance of City Council's deliberations on the issues relating to Mayfair I and Mayfair II until some in August or September 2015 in order for us to continue cleaning up of the properties and securing them, as well as take additional meaningful actions and be able to further report on the progress to the City Council.
