,.- AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE N0. 519,
AND SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE N0. 551, BY INCREASING
THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION FROM FIVE (5) TO
'~+'`' SEVEN ( 7 ) MEMBERS .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Appointments.
Section 2 of Ordinance No. 519
is amended as follows:
"The Parks and Recreation Commission is increased
from five (5) to seven (7) me~'nbers, who shall be
appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by 'a majority
vote of the City Council."
SECTION 2. Terms. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 551 is
amended by adding an additional paragraph numbered Section 1-A
as follows:
~ " "The two (2) additional members of the Parks and
` Recreation Commission shall serve five (5) year
terms; provided, further, however that the first
additional members appointed to the Commission
shall determine by lot their respective terms in
order that the term of one (l) member shall be for
three (3) years, and the term of the other member
shall be for five (5) years. Their successors
shall be appointed for five (5) year terms."
SECTION 3. All other provisions bf Ordinance No. 551
shall remain in full force and effect except as herein
specifically amended.
SECTION 4. All Ordinances or Parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
