AN ORDINANCE TO PROHIBIT HEAVY TRUCKS ON
CERTAIN STREETS IN THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,
ARKANSAS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST

SECTION 1. Definition of Heavy Trucks: The following 9_s
a list of classes, prefixes, and weights which constitute heavy
trucks:
Class 2 Prefix "B" Weight
Class 3 Prefix "C" Weight
Class 4 Prefix "D" Weight
Class 5 Prefix "E" Weight
Class 6 Prefix "H" Weight
Class 7 Prefix "J" Weight
Class 8 Prefix "NR & FARM" Weight

20,001 through
40,001 through
56,001 through
60,001 through
68,001 through
8,001 through
20,000 lbs.
40,000 lbs.
56,000 lbs.
60,000 lbs.
68,000 lbs.
73,000 lbs.
17,000 lbs.
SECTION 2. Purpose: The purpose of this ordinance is to
prohibit heavy trucks on certain designated streets in the City of
West Memphis, Arkansas.
SECTION 3. No heavy trucks shall be allowed on streets and/or
subdivisions in the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, where there
are signs prohibiting trucks classified as Classes 2 through 8,
in Paragraph One (1) above. In the event trucks are making deliveries,
or have other business in the Area, a Bill of Lading or Delivery
Ticket will be required or some other document that has an address
for point of delivery in that Area in order that the provisions of
this ordinance will not apply to that particular vehicle provided
further this ordinance shall not apply in General Business Districts.
SECTION 4. Any individual, firm, partnership, corporation,
or association guilty of violating this ordinance shall be guilty
of a Class "C" Misdemeanor and shall be punished according to law.
SECTION 5. It shall be the responsibility.of the Police

Department to see that the provisions of this ordinance are enforced.

SECTION 6. Repealing Clause. All ordinances are parts of
ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
