AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH A PROCEDURE WHEREBY PERSONS, PARTNERSHIPS,
ASSOCIATIONS, FIRMS, CORPORATIONS, OR ACT NINE (9) INDUSTRIES
SHALL BE REQUIRED TO PAY THE PUBLICATION CHARGES ON ORDINANCES
FOR THEIR PERSONAL BENEFIT AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Arkansas Law requires that all ordinances passed
by the City Council of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, must
be published in a local newspaper; and,
WHEREAS, the expense of publishing ordinances is quite
extensive and causes extra expense for the City of West Memphis;
and,
WHEREAS, it is believed that it is fair and just that all
persons, partnerships, associations, firms, corporations, or
Act Nine (9) Industries should pay for the publication of
ordinances when ordinances shall be for their personal benefit;
therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 0~' WEST MEMPHIS,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. All persons, partnerships, associations, firms,
corporations, or Act Nine (9) Industries shall pay the expense
of publication of ordinances passed by the City Council of the
City of West Memphis where such ordinances are for their personal
benefit .
SECTION 2. It is the responsibility of the City Clerk o#'
the City of West Memphis, Arkansas to bill and collect from all
persons, partnerships, associations, firms, corporations, or
Act Nine (9) Industries for ordinances published for their
personal benefit.
SECTION 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby rep led.
