Below is the pertinent information supporting our request: ty • There are only a few companies in the US that customize trucks for aviation refueling. American Refueler Equipment in Birmingham, AL is the closest. • New refuelers start at $205,000 (if purchased in large quantities). Since this is not an affordable option for us, re-chassing our Jet A refueler makes the most sense. • Fuel sales are our primary revenue source. Therefore, this request needs to be expedited. • We are requesting re-chassising our existing 3,000-gallon Jet A refueler. Our stainless steel tank will be set on a customized 2004 International chassis-cab, Model 4300. This truck will be modified to be NFPA 385 & 407 compliant, and the chassis extended to accommodate our 3,000-gallon stainless steel vessel, which will be fitted with new controls, hose reel motors, interlocks, and the primary & secondary pilots rebuilt. • The cost quoted is $71,967. • The Airport Commission unanimously approved spending up to $80,000, in their June 16th commission meeting, to re-chassis our Jet A refueler. Therefore, we respectfully, request City Council's approval to waive competitive bidding on this urgently needed, specialized equipment. Lynda B.
