AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE N0. 987,
WEST MEMPHIS PRIVILEGE LICENSE ORDINANCE,
ESTABLISHING A PRIVILEGE LICENSE FEE
FOR PERSONS AND/OR CORPORATIONS DEALIN('r
IN USED, SECOND-HAND PRECIOUS METALS,
SCRAP JEWELRY, OR GEMS, DECLARING AN
ET'IERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST P~ZEMPHIS, ARKANSAS
SECTION 1. Section Ten (10) of Ordinance No. 987,
dated, December 10, 1979, shall be amended by adding an
item as follows, with the fee also given below as the
Annual Privilege License Fee.
"Dealers -- Persons and/or Corporations buying and
selling used, second-hand precious metals, scrap jewelry or
gems, -- $200.00".
SECTION 2. A11 Ordinances or Parts of Ordinances in

conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION_3. Emergency Clause. It being found and
determined by the City Council of the City of West Memphis,
Arkansas, that an annual privilege license fee be established
for persons and/or corporations dealing in used, second-hand
precious metals, scrap jewelry or gems, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the.
public peace, health, safety and welfare of the citizens of
the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, shall be effective upon
its passage and approval.
