AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 1039,
DATED NOVEMBER 20, 1980, AND ACCEPTING
TERRITORY ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, INCORPORATING
{~ SUCH TERRITORY INTO WARD FOUR (4), AND
DESIGNATED AS LIMITED INDUSTRIAL AND
ZONED M-l, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, A. J. Thomas and Maggie Sue Goodwin, the owners
of the lands herein described, instituted proceedings in the
County Court of Crittenden County, Arkansas, for the annexation
of certain territory as described below to the City of
West Memphis, Arkansas, and the County Court of Crittenden
County, Arkansas, has entered its Final Order approving and
confirming the annexation of such territory and it is necessary
and proper that the City accept such territory to complete the
annexation and make the hereinafter described territory a part
of the City of West Memphis; and,
WHEREAS, it is also proper that the territory annexed and
accepted be made a part of Ward Four (4), and it should be
zoned Limited Industrial and that the Zoning Classification
~~ M-1 be designated for it; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1039, dated November 20, 1980,

passed by the City Council accepting territory annexed to
the City of West Memphis, consisting of land owned by
A. J. Thomas and Maggie Sue Goodwin was passed before the
Final Order had been entered by the County Court Clerk of
Crittenden County, Arkansas; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary that Ordinance No. 1039 be
repealed and that a new ordinance be adopted accepting this
hereinafter described territory since the Final Order was
entered on February 9, 1981;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 1039, dated November 20, 1980,
is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. That the territory hereinafter described be
and it is hereby accepted as part of the City of West Memphis,
Arkansas, to wit:
"A tract of land located in Section Five (5),
Township Six (6) North, Range Nine (9) East,
Crittenden County, Arkansas, more particularly
described as follows:

Beginning at a point on the existing City Limits
said point being the Southwest Corner of the
Southeast Quarter of Section Five (5),
Township Six (6) North, Range Nine (g) East;
thence, North along the West Line of the
Southeast Quarter of Section Five (5),
Township Six (6) North, Range Nine (g) East,
to a point on the South Right-of-Way Line of the
Missouri Pacific Railroad; thence southeasterly
along the South Right-of-Way Line of the
Missouri Pacific Railroad to a point with the
interesection of the center line of the Ten Mile Bayou;
thence, southwesterly along the center line of
Ten Mile Bayou to a point on the South Line of
Section Five (5), Township Six (6) North,
Range Nine (g) East; thence westerly along
said South Line of Section Five (5),
Township Six (6) North, Range Nine (g) East,
to the point of beginning."
SECTION 3. That the territory hereinabove described be,
and it is hereby attached to and incorporated in Ward Four (4),
of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, and is zoned Limited
Industrial and that the Zoning Classification is designated M-l.
SECTION 4. All Ordinances or Parts of Ordinances in
conflict herewith, are hereby rep/ealed. y,,~,
