OF LOT 8 LYING NORTH OF THE PAVEMENT IN THE EXTENSION OF FRONT `~~.z,

STREET, IN BLOCK 61 OF THE SHOWERS SUBDIVISION, WEST MEMPHIS, ~
ARKANSAS, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES:
WHEREAS, application was made to the City Planning Com-
mission to rezone the hereinafter described property and after
notice having been published for the time and in the manner as
provided by Ordinance the matter was heard by the City Planning
Commission and no persons appearing to protest the same the
Planning Commission recommended that said application be granted:
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I: That the following described property, to wit:
Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 and that part of Lot 8 lying
north of the pavement in the extension of Front Street,
all in Block 61 of Showers Subdivision in the City of
West Memphis, Arkansas, as shown by plat of record in
Plat Book 1 at page 59; the street address of said prop-
erty being 1306 to 1318 South Avalon, West Memphis, Arkansas.
b~ and the same is hereby rezoned B-2 General Business District.
SECTION II: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION III: EMERGENCY CLAUSE: It is found and determined
by the City Council that this property is in the process of
development and the immediate passage of this ordinance is neces-
sary for the orderly development of said property; and the pas-
sage hereof is necessary for the growth and expansion of West
Memphis and that the passage hereof is in the interest of the
public health, peace, safety and welfare of the City of West
Memphis, Arkansas and the inhabitants thereof. Therefore,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall
take effect and be in force immediately upon the passage and
approval.
