ORDINANCE N0. .~
AN ORDINANCE TO REZONE CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS; DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the West Memphis Planning Commission recommended
that certain property within the City of West Memphis, Arkansas
be rezoned as provided in Ordinance No. 715, of the City of
West Memphis, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, notice was duly published on November 11, 1975,
that a .hearing would be held by the Planning Commission, and at
said meeting held the 26th day of November, 1975, and by an
application previously submitted, the Planning Commission
recommended that the property hereinbelow described be rezoned
from M-1 to that of RS-6; said property being described as follows:
Blocks 55 through 62, Showers Subdivision, bounded
by South Avalon on the West, Garrison on the North,
Front Street on the South and East, except that part
of Block 6 1 ing South of Front Street, as presently
paved and~~~~~t~d by the City of West Memphis, Arkansas;
WHEREAS, no persons appeared to protest against said zoning
as requested; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of West Memphis
recommended that said rezoning Petition be granted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
Section 'l. That the following described property now zoned as
M-l, Industrial, be and the same hereby is rezoned as RS-6, Residential.
Blocks 56 through 62, Showers Subdivison, bounded by
South Avalon on the West, Garrison on the North,
Front Street on the South and East, except that part
of Block 67 1 ing South of Front Street, as presently
paved and~s~g~.~d by the City of West Memphis, Arkansas.

Section 2. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3. A copy of this Ordinance, when duly certified by
the City Clerk, shall be subject to being filed and recorded in
the office of the Circuit Court Clerk and Ex-Officio Recorder within
and for Crittenden County, Arkansas.
Section 11-. EMERGENCY CLAUSE. It is found and declared by
the City Council of the City of West Memphis, that this Ordinance
is necessary for the orderly growth and expansion of the City of
West Memphis, Arkansas; therefore, an emergency is hereby declared
to exist, and, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
