STRUCTURE AT 567 EAST BROADWAY,APPROVING AN ARTIST RETENTION AGREEMENT WITH RANDY
WALKER DBA WALKER DESIGN STUDIO, LLC AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
City Attorney Peeples read Ordinance by title only for the THIRD and final time. Councilor Pulliaum made
a motion, seconded by Councilor Taylor to approve the ordinance. Mayor Johnson asked if there was
any discussion. Discussion was heard: Councilor Croom expressed concern with the waiving of the bids
and only having one proposal with no other options to choose from, no local people being considered
for the project such as Delta Arts and no clarification of who would be responsible for maintaining the
tower. Councilor Croom felt that for a $250,000 expenditure the money could be better spent in other
areas. Councilor Croom asked that the Councilor members put further thought into it before approving
the project.Councilor Robinson asked if there was an agreement for maintenance already in place to
ensure that the tower would be maintained and if Advertising and Promotion would have any input of
money in the Tower. Councilor Taylor indicated that Main Street would be responsible for the
maintenance of the tower and that Advertising and Promotion might be involved in the future in a
marketing capacity. Councilor McClendon asked how much money was in the fund and if the remaining
money in the fund could be used to improve other areas on Broadway and Missouri Street. Mayor
Johnson said approximately$480,000 was in the fund and the tower project would take a little less than
half of the money but that the remaining money could be used for improvements along Missouri or
Broadway, so long as they complied with guidelines. Councilor Croom reiterated that he is not opposed
to improving the tower but wanted to make sure that the project is maintained. After further discussion

RE: 205 West Roosevelt Lot Consolidation
Mr. Luker,
Please find attached a Lot Consolidation Plat for 205 W. Roosevelt. We are the owners and are looking
at rehabbing the existing home or possible demolition of the existing house and building a new house.
We are submitting this Lot Consolidation with a request for a variance as needed for the current 50 foot
lot width so that all options will be open for us in case the new house construction is the more viable
alternative.
We would appreciate the approval for the variance and consolidation plat as soon as possible so that we
may move forward in making this much needed improvement.
