AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS,
TO PERFORM ELECTRICAL WORK ON ITS
OWN FACILITIES WITHOUT LICENSED
ELECTRICIANS, DECLARING AN EP•7ERGENCY
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF 'SHE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Definition. Electrical Work.' Any type
of construction, installation,~or maintenance o,f electrical
fixtures or equipment, directly or indirectly performed
where electricity is consumed.
SECTION 2. From and after passage of this Ordinance,
any electrical work performed on facilities owned and
operated by the City of West Memphis may have electrical
work performed by personnel who do not

SECTION 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4. Emergency Clause. It being f*~und and determined
by the City Council of the City of WeJst Memphis, Arkansas, that
it is not economically feasible to hire outside electricians
to perform electrical work for the City of West Memphis, Arkansas,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance,
being necessary for the public peace, safety, health and welfare
of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, shall be in full force
and effect from and after the date of its passage,
