AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 580 OF
THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ADDING TO SAID
ORDINANCE CERTAIN ADDITIONAL OCCUPATIONS
TO BE LICENSED; THE OCCUPATION OR LICENSE
FEE; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS:
Section 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 580 is
hereby amended to add as additional occupations to be licensed
by the City of West Memphis:
Concessionaire -
Race Track where pari-mutuel
wagering is lawful
Private Club -
Operated on premises where
pari-mutuel wagering is
permitted
$10,000.00
$700.00 per week
not to exceed a
total of $15,000.00
Section 2. The occupation license or fees as provided
for herein shall be payable in advance and prior to the racing
season as established by the proper State authority.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. A copy of the ordinance, when duly certified
by the City Clerk, shall be subject to being filed and recorded in
the office of the Circuit Court Clerk and Ex-Officio Recorder within
and for Crittenden County, Arkansas.
Section 5. EMERGENCY CLAUSE: It is found and declared by
the City Council of the City of West Memphis that this ordinance is
necessary. for the growth and expansion.of the City of West Memphis;
therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval.
