AN ORDINANCE TO ABANDON A SMALL PORTION
OF SOUTH 22nd STREET IN THE CITY OF WEST
MEMPHIS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, An application was made to the City Council of the City of
West Memphis, on February 3, 1972, for the purpose of abandoning a small
portion of South 22nd Street in West Memphis, Arkansas, as more particularly
hereinafter described; and,
WHEREAS, Notice was duly published on the 4th day of February, 1972,
that a Hearing would be had by the City Council at 1:30 otclock P. M. on the 17th
day of February, 1972, and at said meeting and by the Petition previously sub-
mitted, it was requested that the following described property in West Memphis,
Arkansas, be abandoned, to-wit:
That part of South 22nd Street located
immediately to the East of Lot 2, Block
3 of the George T. Kendal Subdivision,
Fifth Addition, more particularly des-
cribed as follows:
Commencing at the Southeast Corner of
existing Lot 2, Block 3, George T. Kendal
Fifth Addition to the City of West Memphis;
thence East along the South line of said Lot
extended 11. 5 feet; thence North parallel with
the West line of said Lot 50 to a point; thence
West 90 degrees to the existing Northeast
Corner of said Lot 2, Block 3; thence South-
westerly along the radius of the existing Street
to the point of beginning.
WHEREAS, No persons have appeared to protest against said zoning
as requested and a Waiver of any objection has been filed by two of the adjoining
lot owners; and,
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of West Memphis, is of the
opinion that said Petition be granted;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS:
Section 1. That that small part of South 22nd Street in the City of West
Memphis, Arkansas, more particularly described above, be and the same hereby
is abandoned.
Section 2. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith
are- hereby repealed.
Section 3. A copy of the Ordinance, when duly certified by the City
Clerk, shall be subject to being filed and recorded in the Office of The Circuit
Court Clerk and Ex-Officio Recorder in and for Crittenden County, Arkansas.
Section 4. Emergency Clause: It is found and declared by the City
Council of the City of West Memphis, that this Ordinance is necessary for the
orderly development, growth and expansion of the City of West Memphis;
therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
