AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE HIRING OF KEITH HOLT D/B/A
FIREHOUSE PROPERTY MAINTENANCE TO DO MAINTENANCE ON
BUILDINGS OWNED BY THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, State Statute 14-42-107(b)(1) states:
No alderman, council member, official, or municipal employee shall be interested,
directly or indirectly, in the profits of any contract for furnishing supplies, equipment, or
services to the municipality unless the governing body of the city has enacted an
ordinance specifically permitting aldermen, council members, official, or municipal
employees to conduct business with the city and prescribing the extent of this authority.
and;
WHEREAS,the City of West Memphis desires to utilize the services of Keith Holt,
doing business as Firehouse Property Maintenance,to provide painting and repairs for buildings
owned by the City of West Memphis; and
WHEREAS, Keith Holt is employed by West Memphis Fire Department, thereby
requiring prior approval of such hiring by the City Council of the City of West Memphis;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City of West Memphis is hereby authorized to hire Keith Holt for
building maintenance for the City of West
/Memphis.
