2450 ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 2.12.010 OF THE WEST
MEMPHIS MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING AIRPORT
COMMISSIONERS,AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Section 2.12.010 of the West Memphis Municipal Code was
adopted in 1962 and contains restrictions for members of the Airport Commission
which are outdated and no longer appear in state law; and
WHEREAS, Section 2.12.010 should be amended to reflect the current state law
regarding members of the Airport Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,ARKANSAS, THAT:
Section 1. Section 2.12.010 of the West Memphis Municipal Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
There is created an Airport Commission, to be composed of seven citizens who
are qualified electors of the state, and at least one of the seven members shall be
fully experienced in aviation,holding some type of pilot aeronautical rating, if the
city can secure a citizen with this experience which is available and willing to
serve on the commission, otherwise this requirement will be waived.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed
to the extent of any such conflict.
