AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES,
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES
WHEREAS, it having been called to the attention of the
City Council of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, that
certain ordinances of said City do not have penalties provided
therein for a violation thereof, and it being necessary that
proper penalties for violation of said ordinances be provided,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. Every person who shall be convicted of any
misdemeanor, the punishment for which is not otherwise specif-
ically prescribed shall be punished by imprisonment of not
less than ten (10) days nor more than three hundred sixty
(360) days or fine of not to exceed Two Hundred Fifty Dollars
($250.00) or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 2. Ordinance No. 222 is hereby repealed.
Section 3. Emergency Clause. It being found and deter-
mined by the City Council of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas
that updating of the City ordinances for codification purposes
is immediately needed and there are some parts of ordinances
out-of-date which should be repealed, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval.
