ORDINANCE ACCEPTING TER•RITOR•Y ANNEXED TO THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, INCORPORATING SUCH TERRI-
TORY INTO WARD FOUR•(4) OF SUCH CITY.
WHEREAS, J. Craig Tennison, C. H. Bond, Jr. , J. D. Burnett,
B. H. Burnett, Kemmons Wilson, James Richard Walker and Guaranty Loan &
Real Estate Company, a corporation, instituted proceedings in the County Court
of Crittenden County, Arkansas, for the annexation of 221.6 acres of territory
as described hereinbelow to the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, and the
County Court of Crittenden County, Arkansas, has entered its final order ap~
proving and confirming the annexation of such territory as of the 31st day of
July, 1972, and it is necessary and proper and to the best interest of the City
of West Memphis that the City accept such territory to complete this annexation
and make the said lands and territory a part of the City of West Memphis; and
WHEREAS, it is also proper that the territory annexed and accepted
be assigned to a ward within the City, and the Council finds that it is proper and
appropriate that it be made a part of Ward Four (4)of the City of West Memphis;
NOW, THER•EFOR.E, be it ordained by the City Council• of the City
of West Memphis, Arkansas:
SECTION 1. That the territory hereinafter described be, and it is
hereby, accepted as part of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, to-wit:
A tract of land located in portions of Section Four (4), Five (5),
Eight (8) and Nine (9), Township Six (6) North, Range Nine (9)
East, Crittenden County, Arkansas, more particularly described
as follows:
Beginning at a point on the existing city limits, said point being at
the intersection of the center line of 10 Mile Bayou and the North
right of way line of Interstate Highways 40 and 55; thence north-
easterly along the center line of 10 Mile Bayou to a point on the
South right of way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad; thence
southeasterly along said South right of way line of the Missouri
Pacific Railroad to a point on the East line of the Northwest Quarter
(NW4) of Section Nine (9), Township Six (6) North, Range Nine (9)
East; thence South along said East line of said Northwest Quarter
(NW4) to the center of Section Nine (9); thence East along the North
line of the Southeast Quarter of Section Nine (9) to a point on the West
right of way line of Club Road; thence southwesterly along the westerly
line of Club Road to a point on the North right of way line of Interstate
55, thence northwesterly along the North right of way line of Interstate
Highway 55 to the point of beginning, all of said lines and boundaries
being the existing city limits of the City of West Memphis, except
that part of the westerly line of the. annexed territory lying North of
the Section Line between Sections Five (5) and Eight (8) and the
northerly line of said tract which runs along the Sourth right of way
line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad, containing 221.6 acres, more
or less.
SECTION 2. That the territory hereinabove accepted for annexation
as described, be, and it is hereby, attached to and incorporated into Ward Four (4)
of the City of West Memphis and shall forthwith be considered and become a part
thereof.
