AN ORDINANCE TO PROHIBIT THE DISCHARGE OF
FIREART~IS AND OTHER GUNS WITHIN THE LIMITS
OF THE CITY OF WEST MET~IPHIS, ARKANSAS, TO
FIX THE PUNISHI~'LENT THEREFOR, DECLARING AN
~ EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
P~LEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person other than
a peace officer in the discharge of his duty as such to fire or
shoot, vaithin the city limits, any firearms, spring guns, or air
guns.
Section 2. Any person found guilty of a violation of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not
less than Five Dollars ($5.00) nor more than Fifteen Dollars
($15.00) and each time said firearms or spring guns or air guns
are discharged, shall constitute a separate offense.
Section 3. It being found and determined by the City
Council of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, that there is an
immediate need .for prohibition of discharging of firearms and
other guns within the limits of the City of West r~Iemphis, Arkansas
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after ids passage and
approval.
