AN ORDIN~'~NCE TO AMEND ORDINANC~~ NO. 226, WHICH
IS ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR FIRE
PREVENTION hND PROTECTION IN CONNECTION WITH
HAZARDOUS A'1ATERIALS AND PROCESSES."
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF

Section l: Section One (1) of Ordinance No. 226 is hereby
amended to read as follows: There is hereby adopted by the City
of West D2emphis, for the purpose of providing fire prevention and
protection in connection with hazardous materials and processes,
Fire Prevention Code, 1965 edition with 1966 revision thereof,
recommended by American Insurance Association, successor to the
National Board of Fire Underwriters, and any additions, revisions
or changes thereto, save and except such portions as are hereinafter
deleted, modified, or amended, of which not. less than three copies
have been filed in the office of the City C1er}z of the City of West
Memphis and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully
as if set out at length herein, and from the date on which this
ordinance shall to}te effect, the provisions thereof shall be con-
trolling within the lirnits of the City of West Memphis.
Section 2: All other provisions contained in Ordinance
No. 226 shall remain in full force and effect except as herein
specifically amended.
Section 3: This ordinance being necessary for the safety
and welfare of the inhabitants of the City of West Memphis, an
emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval as provided
by law.
