ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE COMPENSATION FOR MEMBERS OF
THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS,
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has, over the past few years, had
an increased number of applications for rezoning; and,
WHEREAS, this increase in applications has resulted in much time being
consumed by the members of said Planning Commission,
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That each member of the Planning Commission be paid,
as compensation for attendance at the meetings of said Planning Commission,
the sum of Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) per month, provided such member
attends said meetings.
SECTION 2. That the City Treasurer be, anal he is hereby authorized, to
pay the compensation as set forth hereinabove upon proper authorization from the
Mayor as to attendance .
SECTION 3. It being determined that this ordinance is necessary for the
immediate preservation of public peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of
West Memphis, Arkansas, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval
and publication as required by law.
