ORDINANCE NO. ~~
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCES NO. 435 AND
ORDINANCE NO. 472 AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 180,
PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF GARBAGE, WASTE,
TRASH AND REFUSE IN THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,
PROVIDING FOR INSPECTION OF PREMISES, FIXING A
SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR SAID SERVICE AND PROVIDING
A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WEST MEMPHIS,
ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 435, passed and approved
on the 18th day of April, 1963, be, and the same is hereby,
repealed.
Section 2. That Ordinance No. 472, passed and approved
on the 4th day of February, 1965, which ordinance amended
Ordinance No. 435, be, and the same is hereby, repealed.
Section 3. That Section 12 of Ordinance No. 180 --
CLASSIFICATIONS -- be amended to read as follows:
ESTABLISHMENT
MONTHLY FEE
Each house or apartment occupied by
one-family unit 1.90
Office buildings shall pay for each
separate suite of rooms, or room, in
said building or classified in schedule
below 2.15
Each building, house or part of
buildings occupied by a commercial
~ business shall be classified by the
Garbage Department according to volume
and weight of garbage accumulated by
such business and/or the handling costs,
and there shall be levied and collected
the following fees:
CLASS A 526.15
CLASS B 21.15
CLASS C 16.15

CLASS D S13.15
CLASS E 11.15
CLASS F 9.15
CLASS G 7.15
CLASS H 5.15
CLASS I 3.15
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances
are hereby repealed and/or amended as herein set forth and all
other provisions contained in Ordinance No. 180, unless repealed
or amended, shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 5. The operating expense of the gargabe
collection and trash collection has resulted in the necessity
for increased charges for such services. An emergency is there-
fore declared and this ordinance being necessary for the preserva-
tion of the public peace, health and safety, shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publi-
cation as required by law.
