ORDINANCE N0. ~.~
WHEREAS, a Petition was duly filed with the City Co ncil
of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, on the ~~ day of ,
1956, asking the City Council to vacate and abandon portio of
certain streets and avenues shown on plats of George T. Kendal
Addition to the Town (how City) of West Memphis, Arkansas, of
record in the Office of the Circuit Clerk and Recorder of Crit-
tenden County, Arkansas, said streets and alleys sought to be
vacated being specifically described as follows, to-wit:
Monroe Avenue from the East side of Woods Street to
the West side of Second Street and also Monroe Avenue
from the East side of Fifth Street to the West right-
of-way line of the St. .Louis-San Francisco R. R.
(Marion Cut-Off).
Madison Avenue from the East side

Said Streets, Avenues and Alleys being shown on plat
of record in Plat Book One on pages 24 and 25 and in
Plat Book Two on page 107 Office of the Recorder of
Crittenden County, Arkansas.
WHEREAS, after due notices as required by law, the
Council has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard
all persons desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained
that the streets, avenues and alleys or the portions thereof,
hereinabove described, have heretofore been dedicated to the public
use as streets, avenues or alleys herein described; have not been
- actually used b' the public generally for a period of at least
five years subsequent to the filing of the plat; that all the
owners of the property abutting upon the portions of the streets,
avenues and alleys to be vacated have filed with the Council their
written consent to such abandonment; and that public interest and
welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment of such
portions of said streets, avenues and alleys.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of
the City of West Memphis, Arkansas:
SECTION 1. The City of West Memphis, Arkansas, hereby
releases, vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the
rights of the public generally, in and to the portions of certain
streets, avenues and alleys designated as follows:
