AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.2488 ADOPTING A TRAVEL
POLICY FOR CITY EMPLOYEES, ELECTED AND APPOINTED OFFICIALS
FOR THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,ARKANSAS,AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS,Ordinance No. 2488 adopted a travel policy for city employees, elected and
appointed officials; and
WHEREAS,the City Council has recommended that Ordinance No. 2488 of the City of
West Memphis be amended;
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,ARKANSAS,THAT:
SECTION 1: Section 1, Subtitled"Food"of Ordinance 2488 shall be amended to read
as follows:
Food
Meals are reimbursable for overnight travel.
The daily maximum allowable reimbursement for travel in state shall be for 2 meals or a
maximum total of$45.00,per applicable receipts. The daily maximum allowable
reimbursement for travel out of state shall be for 2 meals or a maximum total of$65.00.
The per meal allowance, shall be:
ARKANSAS OUT OF STATE
Breakfast $12.00 $15.00
Lunch 20.00 25.00
Dinner 25.00 40.00
Maximum Daily Total $45.00 $65.00
In cases where a meal is provided by the attended function, unless the Department Head
provides prior written approval,the allowance will not be paid for the meal.
Reimbursement of meals for other purposes for official city business must state the name
of the guest(s), nature of business, and be approved by the Department Head based on
prior budget approval.
The City shall not reimburse the costs of alcoholic beverages.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of any such conflict.
