WHEY, S, a petition was filed with the City Planning Com-
mission and the City Council of The Cit~r of West r2emphis, in Crit-
tenders County, Arkansas, by Fred L. "cott and C. B. Senhausen as
the owners of the hereinafter-described property praying that
said property be rezoned as set out in the petition;
WHr S, the said City Planning Commission, after a hear-
ing in a regular meeting of said Commission held on May 10, 1956,
in accordance with the laws of The State of Arkansas and the or-
dinances of The City of i~Test 1~Temphis, recommended to the City
Council of said City that said petition be granted;
j~JI~REAS, the City Council of The City of West Memphis,
in its regular meeting held on T~lay 17, 1956, set the public hear-
ing on said petition_ for ~TUne 7, 1956, at 3;00 o'clock p. m.;
^J?IEREAS, a notice was duly published on the 22nd day of
May, 1956, in a local newspaper of general circulation, as required
by Ordinance No. 165 of said City, stating that, on the 7th day
of June, 1956, at 3:00 o~clock p. m., a public hearing would be
held. by the City Co~zreil of The City of West Memphis, Crittenden
County, Arkansas, in the Gity Hall in said City for the purpose
of taking action upon said petition and calling upon all persons
having objections to such rezoning of said property as 'tD'~ Com-
mercia 1 District to appear at said hearing to make known their
objections and notifying all other interested persons to appear
at said hearing so that they mi`;ht be heard; and
hII-IEREA,S, no person expressed a desire to be heard, or
was heard, or made any protest, or appeared at said hearing to
make any objection to such ~~ezoning of said property and the Council
finds that said petition should be granted and said lands should
be rezor_ed as requested;

section 2. A11 resolute ons, ordinances and parts of or-
dinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3. ~ copy of this Ordinance, when duly certified
by the City Clerk, shall be entitled to be filed and recorded in
the Office of the Circuit Court Clerk and,~,~-officio recorder
within and for Crittenden County, 11rl~ansas.

by the City Colancil that, because of the need of coordinated,
adjusted, and 1~.~.rmoni ous zon~i_n~ of lands within the City of West
Tlemphis, and particularly the lands hereinbefore described, in
accordance with a proper City plan, it is necessary for the pre-
servation of the public peace, health, and safety that this Or-
dinance become effective without delay. Therefore, an emer~eney
is declared and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon and after its ~assa~e.
This Ordinance was passed and approved on this ~ day

NOTICE OF HEARING ON
PETITION FOR REZONING
NOTICE IS HEREBY' GIVEN that, on the 7th day of June, 1956,
at 3:00 o~clock p. m., a public hearing will be held by the City
Council of The City of West r!(emphis, Crittenden County, Arkansas,
in the City Hall in said City for the purpose of taking action
upon a petition which has been filed requesting rezoning of the
following-described real estate, located in said City:
All of Blocks D and E and the West Half (WF} of
Blocks C and F, of the Southcrest Subdivision in
The City of West Memphis
from "C" Multiple Family Residence District to "D" Commercial
District.
All persons having objections to such rezoning of said
property as "D" Commercial District are notified to appear at
said hearing to make known their objections and all other persons
interested in this matter are notified to appear at said hearing
so that they may be heard.
