2197 RESOLUTION NO. 2 ( q
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO DO BUSINESS WITH
ALLIANCE FOR RURAL IMPACT FOR GRANT WRITING SERVICES FOR
THE WEST MEMPHIS PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS,the City of West Memphis and the West Memphis Planning and
Development Department desires to do business with Alliance for Rural Impact for grant writing
services for the Choice Neighborhoods Planning Grants Program; and
WHEREAS,Alliance for Rural Impact has agreed to write the grant on behalf of the City
of West Memphis at no charge,provided, if the grant is awarded to the City, Alliance for Rural
Impact is allowed to create the plan for the area to be revitalized; and
WHEREAS,the City of West Memphis has a previous history of working with all the
members of the Alliance for Rural Impact firm; and
WHEREAS,the City does not have time to advertise and bid for grant writing services
due to the deadline for the grant application approaching in June, 2019;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,ARKANSAS,that the Mayor is hereby authorized to do business
with Alliance for Rural Impact for grant writing services for the Choice Neighborhoods Planning
Grants Program on behalf of the City of West Memphis and the West Memphis Planning and
Development Department.
