ORDINANCE NO. -~ ~~~
AN ORDINANCE ASSESSING THE BENEFITS IN STREET IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
NO. 4 OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS
WHEREAS, more than two thirds in value of the property
holders owning property adjoining the locality to be affected and
situated in Street Improvement District No. 4 of West Memphis,
Arkansas, organized for the purpose of grading, draining, curbing
and guttering the streets set out in the petition, have petitioned
the council of said city for the construction of said improvement,
and that the costs thereof shall be assessed upon the real property
of said district according to the benefits received, and
WHEREAS, said benefits received by each and every lot
and parcel of real property situated in said district equals or ex-
ceeds the local assessment thereon; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of said improvement is Six
Hundred Forty Five Thousand and No/100ths Dollars (5645,000.00);
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED by the city council of the City of West
Memphis, Arkansas:
SECTION I. That said several lots and parcels of real
property in said district be assessed according to the assessment
list for said improvement district as the same now remains in the
office of the City Clerk and as the same may hereafter be revised,
and that two and one half per centum (2~%) of the assessment of each
of said lots and parcels shall be collected by the County Collector
with the first installment of general taxes becoming due in 1959,
and annually thereafter with the first installment of general taxes,

until the whole of the said local assessments shall be paid.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its p,~3S$age.
