ORDINANCE NO. ~ ~~
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A CERTAIN PORTION OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,
ARKANSAS,.TO STREET IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 4 OF WEST MEMPHIS,ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, parties claiming to be the owners of a majority in
assessed value of the real property located within the territory
hereinafter described, which property is contiguous to Street Improve-
ment District No. 4 of West Memphis, Arkansas, a duly created and
existing improvement district, have filed a petition praying that
said territory be annexed to said District for the purposes herein-
after set cut; and
WHEREAS, after due notice as re}~ired by law, the City Council
of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, has heard all parties desiring
to be heard, and has ascertained that said petition was signed by a
majority in assessed value of the owners of real property within said
territory; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of West Memphis,
Arkansas:
SECTION 1. That the following described property in the City
of West Memphis, County of Crittenden, State of Arkansas, to-wit:
All that real property lying within 150' north
of the north line of Thompson Avenue and all
that real property lying 150' south of the south
line of Thompson Avenue, extending from the west
line of north 14th Street east a distance of
510',
be anal the same is hereby added to and annexed to Street Improvement
District No. 4 of West Memphis, Arkansas, and the Commissioners of said
District shall proceed to make the improvements petitioned for by
grading, draining, curbing, guttering, and paving Thompson Avenue
from the east line of North 14th Street east a distance of 510 feet,
in such manner and with such materials as said Commissioners shall
determine to be for the best interests of said territory hereby
annexed, and that the cost thereof be assessed anal charged upon the

real property within the territory hereinabove described.
SECTION 2. That said annexed territory shall be known as
"Annex No. 1 to Street Improvement District No. 4 of West Memphis,
Arkansas."
SECTION 3. That the Commissioners of Street Improvement
District No. 4 of West Memphis, Arkansas, shall make the assessment
of benefits for said improvements on the lots, blocks, or parcels
of real property in the territory herein annexed on the same basis
as if said territory were included in the original District, and
shall file said assessment with the City Clerk.
SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage.
