CITY STREET MAP AN UNDEDICATED ALLEY AREA SHOWN ON SAID P~iAP
AS AN ALLEY RUrJNING IN AN EAST - WES~f DIRECTION, BETTER DES-
CRIBED AS AN ALLEY DISPLAYED ON THE MAP OF THE CITY OF WEST
MEMPHIS AS STARTING AT SOUTH WOODS STREET AND RUf~111vG IN A LINE
IN A WESTERLY DIRECTION PARALLEL AND SOUTH OF WEST BROADWAY
~tU. S. HIGHWAY N0. 701 TO A POINT 291.65 FEET WEST OF SOUTH
IIREDDING STREET.
WHEREAS, a majority of the adjacent property owners who
own property contiguous to said alley made application by
petition before the Council of West Memphis, Arkansas seeking
and requesting removal from the street map of an area shown as
an alley running in a East-West direction between South Woods
and a point 291.65 feet West of South Redding Street, and
WHEREAS, it was found and ascertained by the Council that

said alley area had never been dedicated as an alley, has never
'been used as an alley, nor has the Public or members thereof
acquired to use to the use of said alley area by easement, deed,
prescription or otherwise, and
WHEREAS, it was determined by the Covncil that said peti-
!tion¢rs constituted a majority of the owners of property ad-
~Jacent and contiguous to said alley area and that said alley
'merely appeared on the City Street Map of the City of West
'Memphis and that said petition was in proper form and of much
,,merit, and
That publication was duly made of said petition and notice
Igive~ requesting any person or persons on July 3, 1958 to make
jknown any objections to the ~:emoval of said alley area from the
~~City StrE:et Map, and
WHEREAS, no person interposed any objection on duly 3, 1958
'~to said removal of said alley area, and
WHEREAS, the presence on the City Street Map of limes
(described thereon as an alley area being the said undedicated
Malley area will needlessly complicate and interfere with the
(Ifuture building and development activities in this area, and

lit is to the manifest best interest of the City of West Memphis,

~~the owners of real property in this alley area and the Public
for said alley area to be deleted and removed from the City
Street Map of West Memphis, Arkansas.
NOW THEPI=PURE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
That it has been ascertained that said alley area, herein
before described, has never been dedicated as an alley, has
never been used as an alley, now has the Public or members
thereof acquired the right to the use of said alley area by
easement, deed, prescription or otherwise, and
That said alley area shown on said City Street Map as said
alley, as herein above described is not a dedicated alley.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that said alley area as displayed
on said City Street Map as said alley area between South Wooda
Street and a point 291.65 feet West of South Redding Street
be removed from the City Street Map, it being to the manifest
best interest of the City of West Memphis, the adjacent pro-
perty owners and the Public for said undedicated alley area to
b¢ deleted and removed from the City Street Map.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this Ordinance b¢ published,
that a copy thereof be filed in the office of the City Clerk
and a certified copy in the office of the recorder of Crittenden
County.
