AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 314 OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,
ARKANSAS, WHICH IS ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE CREATING A BOARD OF TRUS-
TEES AND PROVIDING FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF THE WEST MEMPHIS PUBLIC
LIBRARY."
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,ARKANSAS:
SECTION I. Section 4 of ordinance No. 314 be, and same is hereby
amended to read as follows:
SECTION 4. The board shall have exclusive custody, care,
control and supervision of the library, including its buildings,
grounds and property, and exclusive control of expenditures and all
monies coming into the library fund. It shall have power to appoint
a librarian, qualified by education, training, experience and person-
ality, who shall serve at the will of the board. The board of t rus-
tees shall have the power to make all rules and necessary regulations
for administering the library.
SECTION II. In addition to other provisions of Ordinance No. 314,
West Memphis, Arkansas, the following is added as Section 7:
SECTION 7. Board of trustees, in addition to the powers

set forth in this ordinance, shall be governed by the acts of the
General Assembly of the State of Arkansas pertaining to public li-
braries.
SECTION III. Section 7 of Ordinance No. 314 is hereby redesignated
as Section 8.
SECTION IV. Section 8 of Ordinance No. 314 is hereby designated as
Section 9.
SECTION V. Except as herein amended, all provisions as set forth in
Ordinance No. 314 shall remain in full force and effect except as
herein amended and redesignated.
