ORDINANCE N0. ~~„~~
AN ORDINANCE INCORPORATING CERTAIN TERRITORY ADJACENT
TO THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS INTO THE CORPORATE LIMITS
OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS .
WHEREAS, Hulbert West Memphis School District Noy 4 and
Marguerite Fehr petitioned the County Court of Crittenden County,
Arkansas, for the annexation of the property hereinafter described.
to the City of West Memphis, and
WHEREAS, on the 6th day of May, 1960, the date set for the
hearing, the. County Court entered an order annexing the hereafter
described property to the City of West Memphis, and
WHEREAS, more than 30 days have elapsed since said order was
made by the County Court of Crittenden County, Arkansas, and no ob-
jections having been filed to said order of annexation;
NOWT THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY GO'UNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHISt
SECTION 1. That the following described- land, contiguous to
and adjoining the City of West Memphis, Crittenden County, Arkansas,
to-wits
Beginning at the intersection of the West line of
Pearce Street and the South line. of Cooper Avenue
as shown on the. plat of the Henry Craft Addition to
the City of West Memphis of record in Plat Book 1 at
page 77 in the Office of the Circuit Clerk and Ex-
Officio Recorder of Crittenden County, Arkansas; thence
South along the West line of Pearce Street extended to
the South right of way line of U. S. Highway 70; thence
West 891.23 feet along the South right of way line of
U. S. Highway 70; thence North 1,109.15 feet parallel
to the West line of Lehr Street extended to the point
of its intersection with the South line of Oliver Avenue
extended; thence East 208,82 feet along the South line
of Oliver Avenue extended to the West line of Lehr Street;
thence North 875 feet. along the West line of Lehr Street
to the South line of Cooper Avenue; thence East 681.8
feet along the South line of Cooper Avenue to the point
of beginning, containing 33,7 acres, more or less.

Memphis, Crittenden County, Arkansas.

SECTION 2. Emergency Clause--It appearing to the City Council
that the above described land is contiguous and adjacent to the City
of Weat Memphis; that a portion of said land is being used for the
construction of a school building to be used by the residents of
the City of West. Memphis; that it is necessary that this Ordinance
be passed and said land be incorporated into the City of West
Memphis, so the proper zoning ordinances may be passed, an emergency
is declared to exist and this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval
