AN ORDINANCE TO REZONE CERTAIN ZONED PROPERTY IN COMPRESS SUB-
DIVISION FROM RS-7 TO C-4, TO PLACE SAID REZONED PROPERTY IN
THE RESTRICTED FIRE ZONE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, an application has been made to the Planning
Commission of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, by certain
property owners of lots on Bond Street on the 13th day of
September, 1962, as provided by Ordinance No. 411 of the City
of West Memphis, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, notice was duly published on the 19th day of
September, 1962, that a hearing would be held by the Planning
Commission at 3:00 o'clock P. M. on the 11th day of October,
1962, at the City Hall for the purpose of taking action upon
said application and calling upon all interested parties to
appear at such hearing to make known their objections, if any,
in connection with said application for rezoning of lands
hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, at said meeting and by the application previously
made to the Planning Commission, it was requested that the follow-
ing property, to-wit:
Lots 5, 6, 7, Block 12; Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7,
Block 13; Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, Block 14; Lots
5, 6, 7, and 8, Block 15; Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4,
Block 16, and Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, Block 17,
Compress Sub-division
be rezoned from present zoning RS-7 to Zone C-4; and
WHEREAS, no persons appeared to offer a protest against the
rezoning of said property as requested; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recommended to the City
Council that said rezoning be granted and further that said
property as rezoned be located within the boundaries of the
restricted fire zone;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
Section I. C-4 Commercial Zone:
That the following property, to-wit:
Lots 5, 6, 7, Block 12; Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and ?,
Block 13; Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, Block 14; Lots
5, 6, 7, and 8, Block 15; Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4,
Block 16, and Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, Block 17,
Compress Sub-division
now zoned as RS-7, be and the same are hereby rezoned as C-4
Commercial District.
Section II. That said property is hereby made a part of
the Restricted Fire Zone of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas.
Section III. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section IV. A copy of this Ordinance, when duly certified
by the City Clerk, shall be subject to being filed and recorded
in the office of the Circuit Court Clete and Ex-Officio Recorder
within and for Crittenden County, Arkansas.
