2513 ORDINANCE NO. ��I
AN ORDINANCE WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE
OF FIVE POLICE VEHICLES,AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Arkansas Code Annotated Section 14-58-303 allows waiving of
competitive bidding in exceptional situations where such procedure is deemed not feasible or
practical; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department is in need of purchasing five police vehicles; and
WHEREAS, Fleet Safety can provide the vehicles, equipment and installation all in one
location; and
WHEREAS, all warranty work done on the current police vehicles has to be done in
Little Rock and Fleet Safety is located in Memphis, Tennessee, and would be more cost effective,
and competitive bidding under such circumstances would not be feasible or practical;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE

CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
1. That competitive bidding be waived for the following item to be used by the City,
described as follows:
Purchase of five 2019 Chevy Police Package Tahoe from Fleet Safety for a total of
$283,188.35.
