AN ORDINANCE MAKING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF WEST
MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS FULL TIME AND ESTABLISHING A SALARY FOR THE
POSITION THEREFORE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,
ARKANSAS:
Section 1 — The city council desires to establish the office of the Mayor, of
the City of West Memphis a full time position. By virtue of this position, the mayor
is ex-officio president of the council. It is the mayor's responsibility to keep the city
government running properly. This includes enforcing city ordinances and making
sure that the residents receive maximum benefits and services for the taxes that
they pay.
Section 2. The salary of the mayor of the city of West Memphis shall be
increased from $48,000.00 to 87,000.00 annually.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the salary
amount are hereby repealed.
