2518 ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING ALL PUBLIC RECORDS OF THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS TO REMAIN ON CITY PROPERTY OR STORAGE
PROPERTY RENTED BY THE CITY AND BE AVAILABLE AND ACCESSIBLE
FOR INSPECTION OR COPYING BY CITY ADMINISTRATORS,CITY
EMPLOYEES AND CITIZENS OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS,AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS,pursuant to Arkansas Code Annotated Section 25-19-105, all public records
shall be open to inspection and copying by any citizen of the State of Arkansas during the regular
business hours of the custodian of the records; and
WHEREAS,the Mayor and the City Council members of the City of West Memphis
wish to require that all public records of the City of West Memphis remain on city property or
storage property rented by the City and be available and accessible by city administrators, city
employees and citizens of the State of Arkansas; and
WHEREAS,all public records of the City of West Memphis need to be available for
viewing or need to be accessible by city administrators and city employees at all times; and
WHEREAS,Arkansas Code Annotated Section 25-19-105 requires that all public
records be open to inspection and copying by any citizen of the State of Arkansas during the
regular business hours of the custodian of the records;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,ARKANSAS, THAT all public records of the City of West
Memphis shall remain on city property or storage property rented by the City and be available
and accessible for inspection or copying at all times by city administrators, city employees or
citizens of the State of Arkansas.
