WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 16l~ passed and approved on the 21st day of
April, 1949 provided for a Ma3or Street Plan for West Memphis and
Vicinity and adopted a map identified as the "YYest Memphis And vicinity
Ma3or Street Plan", which map was included in said Ordinance and id~en«
tified as such, and was farther identified as being Plate No. 3, and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance No• 161 prnvided for a Ma3or Street Plan
inside the CitT of West Memphis sad adopted a map identified as "I+da3or
Street Plan Inside City", which map *as included in said Ordinance and
identified as such, and it eras farther identified as being Plate No. ~,
and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance No. 164 also refers to Ordinance No. 165
which was passed and approved on the same date, to~e-its April 21, 1949,
referred to a "Zoning District Map of the City of West Memphis" and
identified the same as such and provided that when both said Ordirmuzces
had been passed and Rhen the "VFest Memphis And vicinity Mayor Street
plan", "Ma3or Street Plan Inside City" and "Zoning District Map of the
City of~West Memphis" had been authenticated by the City Clerk, the
sense will be sub3eot to be recorded in the Office of the Circuit Clerk
and E~.Officio Recorder within and for Crittenden County, Arkan$as, and
it Would then constitute the official Ma3or Street Plan Inside the City
of West Memphis, the official Mayor Street Plan Outside City of best
Memghia and the official Zoning District Map of the City of West Memphis,
and
WHEREAS, the "VFeat ][emphis And Vicinity Ma3or Street Plan" Ras
properly scathe nticated by the City Clerk of the City of Wenrt Msnphis
and was fi]ed in the Office of the Circuit Clark and Ex-Officio Recorder

within and for Crittenden Coun~~ 1lrkansas~ and now appears of record
in Plat Book 1 at pages 2118 and 2lt.9~ and
WHEREAS, the "Ma3or Street Plan Inside City" was properly suthen-
ticated by the City Clerk of the City of West Memphis and was filed in
the Office of the Cixcuit Clerk and Ex-Officio Ascorder i-ithin and for
Crittenden County, Arkansas, and now appears of record in Plat Book 1
at pages 226x229, and
WHEREAS, the "Zoning District Map of the City of 'nest Memphis"
was properly authenticated by the City Clerk of the Citty of West ldemphis
and was fired in the Office of the Circuit Clerk and Ex-Afficio Recorder
within and for Crittenden County, Arkansas, and now appears of record
in P1i~t Book 1 at page 230, and
WHEREAS, said Mayor Street Plan shows a proposed eighty-foot street
extending South from Highway 70 along the Drainage Canal to the Chicago,
Roek Island And Pacific Railroad Right-of~Pay; thence in a Westerly
direction parallel with the said Chicago, Rock Island And Pacific Raih-
road Right••of-(fay to 8th Street; thence Northwesterly to 7th Street and
thence North on 7th Street to the City Limits, and

street extending Westward from a point approximate],y midway between the
point There said eighty-foot street leaves 8th Street and extends
Northwesterly to the intersection of 7th and Jefferson Streets; nee

WHEREAS at present there is not any street paralleling the Chicago,
Rock Island And Pacific Railroad as shown on the Major Street Plan and
further that it is unlikely that any necessity will ever require arty
attest, major or otherwise, at this location; that up to the present
tuns no improvements have been made thereon nor are any contemplated;
that no person has acquired any rights vested or otherwise by reason of
said Major Street Plan and that1it would be to the best interest of the

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST MFJ~'HIS:
That the lLa~or Street Plan as adopted by Ordinance No• 16~, passed
and approved on the 21st day of Aprils 19lt9, be amended as follows:
SECS 1. That portion of the Mayor Street Plan shoRi.ng a Mayor
Street eighty feet in width extending Westerly from 21st Street along
the North Right~wf-fay Li.n~e of the Chicago, Rock Island And Pacific
Railroad to 8th Street be abandoned.
SECTION 2. That portion of fihe l~a.~or Street Plan showing a Mai®r
Street eighty feet ixt width extending Westward to the City Limits from
a point approximately midway between the point where said eighty.foot
street leaves 8th Street and extends Northwesterly to the intersection
of 7th and Jefferson Streets be abandoned.
SEC~• A plat showing the amendment herein provided for is
attached hereto and made a part of this Ordinance, and when properly
authenticated. by the City Clerk of the City of West Memphi$, the sam®
shall be entitled to be recorded in the Office of the Circuit Clerk
and Ex+•Officio Recorder within and for Crittenden County Arkansas.
SECTION A copy of this Ordinance duly certified by the City
Clerk shall be filed in the Office of the Circuit Clerk and Eye-Officio
Recorder within and for Crittenden County Arkansas.
SECTION This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage and approval.
