2532 ORDINANCE NO. 7 S 3 Z,
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING TORI PERRY TO SIGN AS A SECOND
SIGNATURE ON ANY CITY CHECKS IN THE ABSENCE OF THE REQUIRED
SIGNATORIES OR SENIOR CHAIRPERSON OF THE BUDGET COMMITTEE,
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the West Memphis City Council has the authority to allow a person
employed by the City to sign as a second signature on city checks in the absence of any of the
required signatories or Senior Chairperson of the Budget Committee of the City of West
Memphis; and
WHEREAS, it is advisable to have a system in place which allows for a second signature
on city checks in the absence or due to the unavailability of the required signatories;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Tori Perry, as City Accountant, is authorized to sign as a second signature
on any city checks in absence of the required signatories or the Senior Chairperson of the Budget
Committee.
SECTION 2. EMERGENCY CLAUSE. It has ing been found and determined by the
City Council of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas. that an urgent and immediate need exists
to have a system in place which allows for a second signature on city checks in the absence or
due to the unavailability of the required signatories or the Senior Chairperson of the budget
Committee, therefore an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance being
necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and wellare of the Citizens of
West Memphis. Arkansas, shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage
and approval.
