AN ORDINACE TO CREATE A CITY MINIMUM WAGE OF $14.00 PER HOUR
FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, some of the city employees are making less than the national minimum
wage.
WHEREAS,we have employees that have served over 30 years and not making more
than$12.65 per hour
WHEREAS,we believe it's in the best interest of our city and our employees to earn a
living wage that's acceptable in today's economy. We believe that having city employees
come to work without the stress of having to worry about financial stability is a plus for
the City of West Memphis
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,ARKANSAS,THAT
That City of West Memphis has created a city minimum wage of$14.00 per hour for
all fulltime time employees of the City of West Memphis.
