2225 RESOLUTION NO. 2z �— S
A Resolution recommending and encouraging all public businesses and facilities'
staff and patrons to wear facial mask (covering) in West Memphis as recommended
by the Center for Disease Control in effort to ensure public safety during the covid-
19 pandemic.
Whereas,the CDC is recommending facial covering to be wom in all business
and public facilities by staff and patrons during this covid-19 pandemic. CDC encourage
staff and patrons to follow CDC guidelines of social distancing, coughing to elbows and
washing hands for at least 20 seconds,
Whereas, Governor Hutchinson of Arkansas has recommended all public
businesses and facilities' staff and patrons follow the recommendations and regulations
of the CDC, as the governor begins to phase in reopening the State of Arkansas
businesses, public facilities, parks, and churches,
Whereas,the Mayor of West Memphis is encouraging the citizens of West
Memphis to wear protective covering when out in public, follow all CDC regulations and
go out only when needed in efforts to keep the citizens of West Memphis safe.
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS,that all our citizens follow the
recommended guidelines by the DC when entering public businesses and facilities.
