AN ORDINANCE TO ZONE BLOCKS ONE TO EIGHT (1-8) BOTH INCLUSIVE OF THIRD RICH
EASTERN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, LYING IN THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER
(SW~) OF SECTION NINE (9), TOWNSHIP SIX (6) NORTH, RANGE NINE (9) EAST,
CRITTEND?EN COUNTY, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, Notice was duly given of a hearing before the Planning Com-
mission of the City of West Memphis, to be had and held for the purpose of
submitting plat, 83.11 of Assurance and requesting of zoning of lands herein-
after described, and
WHERE',AS, the plat and Bill of Assurance were submitted to the Planning
Commission, and after consideration of said plat and Bill of Assurance by
the Planning Commission, it was the finding of the Planning Commission that
the said plat and Bill of Assurance as submitted should be approved, and that
said lands should be zoned as "A" Single Family Residence area, except Lot
One (1), Block Two (2), which was to be zoned as Class "D" Commercial Zone, and
WHERF;AS, Notice was duly given of a hearing to be held. before the City
Council at 3:00 p.m., on Thursday, November 17, 1955, for the purpose of
hearing all interested parties in connection with the zoning of the lands
hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, at said meeting, the owners of. said lands appeared and. re-
quested that all of said lands be zoned as "A" Single Family Residential
District, except Lot One (1), Block Sao (2), which the owners requested to
classify as a Class "D" Commercial Zone, and
WHEREAS, no persons appeared to protest against the zoning of said lands,
and after hearing the owners and other interested persons, the Council finds
that said lands should be zoned, as requested; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS:
SECTION I. "A" SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT: That the following
lands, to w-it:
Blocks One to Eight (1-8) both inclusive of Third Rich
Eastern Addition to the City of West Memphis, lying in
the Southwest Quarter (SW4) of Section Nine (9), Town-
ship Six (6) North, Range Nine (9) East, except Lot One
(1), Block Two (2),
be, and the same are hereby zoned as an "A" Single Family Residence District.
SECTION II. "D" COM~RCTAL DISTRICT: That Lot One (1), Block Two (2)
of Third Rich Eastern Addition to the City of West Memphis, lying in the
Southwest Quarter (SW4) of Section Nine (9), Township Six (6) North, Range
Nine (9) East, be and the same is hereby zoned as a "D" Commercial District.
SECTION III. ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH REPEALED: A11 Ordinances
or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION IV. COPY OF OR.DTNANCE FILED FOR RECORD: A copy of this
Ordinance, when duly certified. by the City Clerk, shall be subject to being
filed in the Office of the Circuit Clerk and E`x-Officio Recorder within and
for Cri ttenden County, Arkansas, for record.
