Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of West
Memphis that Paragraph 3 of Ordinance No. 71 be amended to read as follows:
INCOP~~USTIT3I~ ~`IALLS, CORNICES, AND ROOFS. Every building
hereafter erected or enlarged within the fire limits shall be enclosed on all
sides with walls constructed wholly of stone, brick, hallow building tile,
concrete, ~ other equivalent incombustible material having a fire resistant
property of a 13 inch brick, and shall: have the roof including darmer windows,
and cornices covered with incombustible material. The building may have wood
floors and wood supports for roof.
It appearing that there is immediate need for more definite
regulation of construction to prevent fire hazard to protect the citizenry of
Test R4emphis, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in
Pull force and effect from and after its passage and publication.
