AN ORDINANCE ATTACHING AND INCORPRATING CERTAIN
DESCRIBED ANNEXED TERRITORY TO WARD 5 OF THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, A.C.A. § 14-40-203 requires that when any territory shall have been
annexed to any incorporated town or city, it maybe, and it is the duty of the town or city
council of the incorporated town or city to attach and incorporate the annexed territory to
and in one (1) or more wards of the incorporated town or city lying adjacent thereto; and
WHEREAS, the following described temtory has been annexed to the City of
West Memphis and is adjacent to Ward 5 of the City of West Memphis.
16.45 acres lying in Spanish Grant 2290, T-7-N, R-9-E, Crittenden
County, Arkansas, and being more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the point of intersection of the West line of Section 27
with the North line of Spanish Grant 2290, said point being on the existing
city limits of West Memphis, Arkansas as adopted by Resolution No.
1638, dated February 3, 2000, thence N85 °23'14"E along the North line of
Spanish Grant 2290 and the existing city limits a distance of 1286.0 feet;
thence S07°28'35"E along the existing city limits a distance of 186.35 feet
to a point in the centerline of Military Road and the point of beginning;
thence N79 °42'11 "E along the centerline of Military Road a distance of
370.0 feet to a point; thence S07°28'35"E a distance of 325.0 feet to a
point; thence N79°42'11 "E a distance of 300.0 feet to a point; thence
N07°28'35"W a distance of 325.0 feet to a point on the centerline of
Military Road; thence N79°42'11 "E along the centerline of Military Road
a distance of 28.24 feet; thence N82° 15'34"E along the centerline of
Military Road a distance of 312.10 feet to a point; thence SO1 ° 12'38"W a
distance of 354.92 feet to a point; thence S68°04'47"E a distance of 72.99
feet to a point on the land side right of way of the St. Francis Levee
District; thence S44°43'40"W along said right of way a distance of 235.59
feet to a point; thence N48 °22'37"W along said right of way a distance of
21.81 feet to a point; thence S38 °24'41 "W along said right of way a
distance of 1140.75 feet to a point on the existing city limits; thence
N07°28'35"W along the existing city limits a distance of 1272.81 feet to
the point of beginning, containing 16.45 acres more or less.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The above described territory is hereby attached and incorporated
to Ward 5 of the City of West Memphis with the zoning as shown on the attached
proposed annexation and zoning plat which is incorporated herein as Exhibit "A".
SECTION 2. All ordinance or parts of ordinance in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
