AN ORDINANCE ATTACHING AND INCORPRATING CERTAIN
DESCRIBED ANNEXED TERRITORY TO WARD 1 OF THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, A.C.A. § 14-40-203 requires that when any territory shall have been
annexed to any incorporated town or city, it maybe, and it is the duty of the town or city
council of the incorporated town or city to attach and incorporate the annexed territory to
and in one (1) or more wards of the incorporated town or city lying adjacent thereto; and
WHEREAS, the following described territory has been annexed to the City of
West Memphis and is adjacent to Ward 1 of the City of West Memphis.
183 acres lying in the SE 1/4 of Section 21 and the South'/2 of Section 22, and
the North'/2 of Section 27, lying West of Airport Road and South of the North right of
way line of the Union Pacific Railroad, all in T-6-N, R-8-E, Crittenden County,
Arkansas, and being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the North-South centerline of said Section 22 and the
North right of way line of the Union Pacific Railroad, said point being on the existing
city limits of West Memphis by Ordinance No. 1650, thence South along the North-
South centerline of said Section 22 a distance of 102.99 feet to a point on the South
right of way line of the Union Pacific Railroad; thence N76~09'S4"E along the said
South right of way line a distance of 147.10 feet to a point in the centerline of Airport
Road; thence 525~23'S7"E along the centerline of Airport Road a distance of 234.44
feet; thence along a curve to right with a radius of 1000.0 feet an arc length of 588.07
feet; thence 50817'40"W along said centerline a distance of 1637.42 feet; thence
58958'49"W a distance of 1756.50 feet; thence N0~00'S2"W a distance of 604.57 feet
to a point on the South line of said Section 22; thence West along the South line of said
Section 22 a distance of 977 feet to the Southwest corner of Section 22; thence continue
West along the South line of Section 21 a distance of 2640 feet to the Southwest corner
of the SE 1/4 of Section 21, thence North along the West line of the SE 1/4 of Section
21 a distance of 570 feet to a point on the North right of way line of the Union Pacific
Railroad; thence N76~09'S4"E along said North right of way line a distance of 2970 feet
to a point on the existing city limits; thence continue N76~09'S4"E along said North
right of way line and the existing city limits a distance of 2468.53 feet to the point of
beginning, containing 183 acres more or less.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The above described territory is hereby attached and incorporated
to Ward 1 of the City of West Memphis, and is zoned I-1, Limited Industrial District.
SECTION 2. All ordinance or parts of ordinance in conflict herewith are her y
repealed.
