AN ORDINANCE ALLOWING THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS TO DO BUSINESS WITH TAWANA
BAILEY FOR FACE MASK SERVICES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, A.C.A. 514-42-107 (b)(1) states:
No alderman, council member, official, or municipal employee shall be interested, directly, in the profits
of any contract for furnishing supplies, equipment, or services to the municipality unless the governing
body of the city has enacted an ordinance specifically permitting alderman, council members, official, or
municipal employees to conduct business with the city and prescribing the extent of this authority.
and;
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis desires to utilize the services of Tawana Bailey for mask
Services for the City of West Memphis retroactively to July 1, 2020; and
WHEREAS, Tawana Bailey is employed by the City of West Memphis as the Community Outreach
Director, therefore requiring approval by the City Council for the City of West Memphis.
THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of West Memphis is hereby authorized to hire Tawana Bailey for mask services
for the City of West Memphis, retroactive to July 1, 2020.
