AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE ALDERMEN AND MEMBERS OF THE
CITY COUNCIL TO PURCHASE SERVICES FROM CHARLES SUITER,JR.,
D/B/A SUITER CONSTRUCTION CO.,INC., AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS,A.C.A. § 14-42-107 states that in order for Aldermen, Members of the City
Council or any elected official to conduct business with the City, that it is necessary that an
Ordinance be passed by the Governing Body, specifically, permitting Aldermen, Members of the
City Council or any elected official to conduct business with the City and prescribing the extent
of such authority; and
WHEREAS,the City of West Memphis desires to utilize the services of Charles Suiter,
Jr., doing business as Suiter Construction Co., Inc., to provide construction services for the City
of West Memphis; and
WHEREAS,Charles Suiter, Jr., is related to the current West Memphis Municipal
Airport Director and, as such, the Director has a "direct or indirect" interest in the profits of such
hiring, thereby requiring prior approval of such hiring by the City Council of the City of West
Memphis;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That authorization be given for the City of West Memphis, Arkansas to be
furnished services by Charles Suiter, Jr., doing business assSuiter Construction Co., Inc.
