AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCES 2102 AND 2349 ESTABLISIDNG
WATER RATES FOR THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES
WHEREAS,the West Memphis Utility Commission has recommended and approved
a revision of Utility rates for water in the City of West Memphis; and
WHEREAS, in order to meet necessary revenue requirements for the City of West
Memphis and its utility system, it is necessary that water rates be increased over a forty-eight-
month period, and Ordinances 2102 and 2349 amended;
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE WEST MEMPHIS CITY
COUNCIL THAT the following rates for water in the City of West Memphis are hereby
adopted and approved, the new rates shall be effective in twelve month increments for all
consumers the day this ordinance is published. consumption before this ordinance is published
shall be billed at the old rates.
SECTION 1
A. Minimum monthly charge based on meter size

application. The charge will be billed every two months and meters will be
read when disconnection is made and billings for water used shall be paid in 15
days. A $1,500 refundable deposit shall also be required.

SECTION 2. All Ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of any such conflict.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall not be in effect until February 1, 2021.
